There are tons of cheap/free options, the obvious ones being Resolve/Fusion and Blender.
Talking expensive, look at C4D and start looking at renderers and hardware cost at many multiples what you pay Adobe. Even cheaper when you have a small company with tax deductions.
To be honest, these are products for professionals, and Adobe is actually pretty good value if you use their tools for paid work. I have After Effects but I never use it and the school I go to is paying for it so I won't get to keep it for too much longer
